References to the 'Institute' mean the Institute of Physics. References to 'this web site' are to the Talk Physics web site from which you are linking to these terms and conditions (the “Terms”). The Institute may amend or add to the Terms without notice.

Using this Web Site

This web site is an online service provided by the Institute which allows teachers of Physics to join a community together and thereby communicate with one another. Personal profiles can be created that can be linked with others, who can view each others' names and profiles, communicate with others, share comments and create new networks based on their personal or professional interests.

Your Responsibilities

If you use this web site, you alone are responsible for the content of your messages and any consequences which arise from them. By using this web site, you agree to the following:

1. You are 18 years of age or older and a teacher of Physics.

2. Any information you provide as part of your use of this web site shall be true, accurate and complete.

3. You shall only use this web site for personal use and not for commercial purposes (for example, to promote a company, product or service or to recruit staff) unless you have the Institute’s prior written consent.

4. You shall not use this web site to send chain letters, junk mail, “spam”, solicitations (whether commercial or non-commercial) or any kind of bulk communications. If another person puts their e-mail address or web address in their message, you shall only use it for the purpose intended by that person.

5. If you use this web site to arrange to meet someone then you do so solely at your own risk and the Institute cannot accept any liability for any consequences which may result.

7. You shall not impersonate any other person or entity, whether they are real or fictitious.

8. You shall not use this web site in a way that could cause this web site, or any other Institute web site, to be interrupted, damaged, made less efficient or in such a way as could damage the operation of any computer.

Indemnity

You shall indemnify and hold each of the Institute, its group companies and its employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including, but not limited to, solicitors’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of this web site, your breach of the Terms or your infringement of any intellectual property right or other right of any other person or entity.

Rights of the Institute
