Are you wanting to get more out of the Electricity required practicals at GCSE? Would you like more confidence in the theory behind them, or how to best set them up to get viable results? Or perhaps you are looking for ways to approach the practical work that makes it more engaging for your students and best allows them to extend their thinking and develop their practical skills?
This is a hands on workshop in which you will be able to work with the apparatus, learn tips and tweaks for the standard methods and consider alternative approaches, contexts and applications. We will be looking at how length of wire and the combination of resistors in series and parallel affect resistance and the IV Characteristics of circuit elements.
The workshop is suitable for secondary science teachers (both physics specialists and non-physics specialists), trainees and technicians.
Places are free of charge, and coffee tea and of course cake will be provided. There will also be a bag of IOP resources for each delegate.
