Event Information

6 February 2019
9:30 am - 4:00 pm

This is a restricted event, and is open only to schools that are signed up or in the process of signing up to the Future Physics Leaders programme.

Our forthcoming regional day will look in depth at waves, linking where they crop up in the curriculum and where they appear in real life. We’ll look at the basics through light and progress onto the electromagnetic spectrum and ultrasound. Waves help us to see and we’ll explore how we use them; from viewing inside the body to stars that are light years away. In sessions facilitated by our experienced development coaches you will learn interactive and engaging ways to communicate these topics, which you can easily replicate in the classroom.

To complement this context led approach, we’ll also be looking at careers and how we can incorporate careers information into our practice as well as making science relevant to students through the science capital teaching approach. The day will also include dedicated physics coach training for specialists, where you could gain useful tips to help you run your own CPD sessions.
