In this session we will look at misconceptions, language, and ways to teach about astrophysics in the classroom. Topics will include: classification of stars and the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, stellar evolution, and the fate of the Universe.

We will also reflect on the newly released DOMAINS CPD videos on Space. In particular, we recommend you view the video ‘16 -19 Stellar Radiation‘. Colleagues may wish to indicate specific issues that they would like to discuss using the “additional requirements” box when booking to attend. Please feel free to bring along any questions you have.

Who is this event suitable for?
This event is for all those teaching KS5, or age range 16+, physics and will cover key areas within the secondary and post-16 physics curriculum. The session will be based on the new DOMAINS CPD videos on Space.

Experienced IOP coaches Niloufar Wijetunge & Trevor Plant from the LEAK and South regional teams will host the session and will be there to expand on the content, answer your questions and provide support.
