This live session is part of the IOP DOMAINS online CPD programme and covers aspects of the earth and space domain.

How we count time in years, seasons, months, weeks and days are all governed by the movement of the Earth and other bodies in the Solar System. In this session we will look at simple, practical ways to model the geometry of the Sun – Earth – Moon system to explain the changing seasons, the phases of the moon and more.

We would also encourage you to have a look at some of the DOMAINS CPD videos on Space which together with these live online CPD sessions, form the IOP DOMAINS online CPD programme.

If there any specific issues that you would like to discuss during the session, please list them in the “additional requirements” box when booking and we will do our best to address them.  Alternatively, please feel free to bring along any questions you have.
