Session objectives
In this session, we will focus on the energy calculations used at A-level. This will include the mathematical approaches which link descriptions of energy stores to the particle model, especially with the ideal gas equation.  We will reflect on the new IOP DOMAINS energy videos available here – particularly Introduction to kinetic theory and the gas laws, The gas laws, Ideal gas law and The kinetic theory equation.  We would encourage you to watch these videos before the session.

Colleagues may wish to indicate specific issues that they would like to discuss using the ‘additional requirements’ box.

Who is this event suitable for?
This event is for all those teaching physics.  This event will cover key areas within the secondary physics curriculum and will be based on the new IOP DOMAINS energy videos – particularly Introduction to kinetic theory and the gas laws, The gas laws, Ideal gas law and The kinetic theory equation. Experienced IOP coaches will host the session and will be there to expand on the content, answer your questions and provide support.

This is a regional event. We welcome colleagues from other regions, but priority will be given to colleagues from this region. Please understand that if you are from another region that approval may not be given to your booking if there are insufficient spaces available.
