This session is part of the IOP DOMAINS online CPD programme and covers aspects of the electricity and magnetism domain. We’ll be thinking about what is actually going on in a circuit and how we can help students understand key ideas like charge, current, resistance and potential difference. We’ll explore some useful models including our favourite… the rope loop model and how it can be used to introduce the VIR relationship.

We will also reflect on the DOMAINS CPD videos on electricity, specifically ‘Using Models to Explain Simple Circuits‘ and would encourage you to watch this video before the session if you can. If there any specific issues that you would like to discuss during the session, please list them in the “additional requirements” box when booking and we will do our best to address them.  Alternatively, please feel free to bring along any questions you have.
