This online CPD session is part of the IOP’s DOMAINS programme and is aimed at NQTs, ECTs and Trainees. This is a great opportunity to network with others who are currently in training or have recently finished training.
The focus of this session will be ways of teaching matter and nuclear physics, including reflecting on the new IOP DOMAINS matter and nuclear physics CPD videos on IOPSpark. We would encourage you to watch some of these videos before the session, though it is not essential and we are sure you will still get a lot out of the session if you chose to save the videos for a later time!
In this session, we will focus on some of the practical ideas you can use to bring this subject to life. We will look at Atomic structure, Rutherford backscattering, Radioactive decay & half-life, Nuclear fission and fusion. Please come prepared with any questions or ideas you have on anything related to this topic.
This session is led by the Yorkshire and North East (YANE) regional IOP coaching team – everyone is welcome to attend.
