This session is part of the IOP DOMAINS online CPD programme and covers aspects of the electricity and magnetism domain. Much of the electricity topic on post-16 specifications has been touched on in the specifications of earlier years. Despite this, many post-16 students still have misconceptions and poor problem-solving abilities. This session will look at ways in which you can help students to really consolidate their understanding of the current electricity topic. Worked examples will be used to illustrate the use of the different principles as well as providing general problem-solving guidance.
We will also reflect on the DOMAINS CPD videos on ‘Potential Dividers‘ and ‘EMF and Internal Resistance‘ and would encourage you to watch them before the session if you can. If there any specific issues that you would like to discuss during the session, please list them in the “additional requirements” box when booking to attend and we will do our best to address them. Alternatively, please feel free to bring along any questions you have.
