This session is part of the IOP DOMAINS online CPD programme. Energy as a topic runs through almost every section of post-16 physics specifications. In this session we will look at some key places in the specifications where a solid understanding of energy is key to good understanding. The session will include, thermal and internal energy, temperature, specific and latent heat, photoelectric effect, energy level diagrams, and potential difference. There will be hints and ideas for helping students grasp these key and sometimes difficult concepts.
We will also reflect on some of the Post-16 DOMAINS CPD videos on Energy and would encourage you to watch some before the session if you can. If there any specific issues that you would like to discuss during the session, please list them in the “additional requirements” box when booking to attend and we will do our best to address them. Alternatively, please feel free to bring along any questions you have.
