This session is part of the IOP DOMAINS online CPD programme and covers aspects of the forces and motion domain. We will take a walk through the toolbox of principles and techniques for solving forces problems.  Areas covered will include triangle of forces, moments, centre of gravity, couples and free body force diagrams. Worked examples will be used to illustrate the use of the different principles as well as providing general problem-solving guidance.

We will also reflect on the DOMAINS CPD video on advanced force diagrams & vectors and would encourage you to watch the video before the session if you can. If there any specific issues that you would like to discuss during the session, please list them in the “additional requirements” box when booking to attend and we will do our best to address them.  Alternatively, please feel free to bring along any questions you have.
