The Maths on Monday Series will cover a range of topics of use to all teachers of science who teach the physics component of GCSE science.

Session 01: Dealing with challenging GCSE questions (Mark Whalley)

In this session we will look at some recent GCSE questions (from AQA combined and physics papers). We will focus on those involving tricky units and multi-step questions. We will look at the pitfalls and consider some standard approaches to dealing with these, often 6 mark, questions. Please note that this session is the same as the “Nasty Maths” session delivered in the summer term.

This session will last for 1 hour, with 45 minutes for the main presentation and 15 minutes for questions.

Next session: 09 November – Decimal points and significant figures with Liz Nourshargh
