Maths on Monday will cover a range of topics for all teachers of GCSE Physics / Science. These fortnightly CPD sessions have been designed to support non-specialist teachers who wish to develop their understanding of the underlying Maths required by the GCSE specifications. In addition, Physics specialists will improve their understanding of why their students sometimes find the maths aspects of the course challenging.
Session 01: The Power of Per with Mark Whalley
In this presentation we will look at how using language can improve students’ understanding of key ideas in physics. We will see how we can bypass equations (in many situations) and also how units can be harnessed to reveal the underlying physics.
This session will last for 1 hour, with 45 minutes for the main presentation and 15 minutes for questions.
Next session: 11 October – Rearranging equations with Liz Nourshargh
All our future events are listed in the “Maths on Monday” TalkPhysics group HERE
