Quantum Key Distribution is a fascinating solution using the laws of physics to creating an ‘unhackable’ computer network. It supports KS5 teaching of polarisation, and includes my favourite two (!) demonstrations.
This session was originally developed as part of the Quantum Technology Programme (QTP). It aims to engage young people in science and emergent technologies, enable them to understand the scientific process and enhance their understanding the concepts of quantum physics and technology. The programme is seeking to increase awareness and understanding of the importance and relevance of quantum technologies to UK society, culture and the economy. It will raise awareness of the many career opportunities for young people who attain knowledge and skills in quantum physics.
