Understanding how we learn can help improve students learning. In this session, we will explore three of the six strategies of cognitive science with examples of retrieval practise, spaced learning and interleaving in physics. The event makes particular reference to the work of The Learning Scientists (https://www.learningscientists.org/), including Carolina Kuepper-Tetzel of the University of Glasgow. This is the first in a series of events exploring how educational research can be used to improve teaching and learning in physics. The second event in the series will be on 22 October 2020.
