Learning is more effective when pupils’ misconceptions are taken into account. There are common misconceptions and research to suggest what these are. In this session we will refer to the Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) (https://www.stem.org.uk/best-evidence-science-teaching) and IOP SPARK resources on misconceptions (https://spark.iop.org/misconceptions) and reference other IOP CLPL sessions on diagnostic questions and pedagogical content knowledge.
Registration for the event will close at lunchtime on the day of the event. Log-in details will be emailed to registered delegates on the day of the event. Please check junk mail folders if you have not received log-in details before the event. Contact [email protected] if you have a problem.
This is the third in a series of events designed to improve the use of educational research in the teaching of physics. Links to resources and recordings of the previous events in this series can be found in the IOP Scotland Online CLPL Group on TalkPhysics.
