Event categories:

Join us for a full day of Physics CPD: whether you’re a physics specialist or not. All teachers of physics, technicians and trainees are welcome.

The conference will be generously hosted again at last year’s successful venue, Ivybridge Community College, Devon, PL21 0JA.

This large 11-18 non-selective Academy is readily accessible from the A38 dual carriageway between Exeter and Plymouth, situated in wonderful surroundings on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park.

There will be a wide choice of workshops, along with a selection of physics-related Exhibitors during the day, good networking opportunities, and the day will finish with our popular ‘Have you ever shown them this?’ carousel of classroom-ready teaching ideas.

Please note that this CPD day is on a TUESDAY, during the College’s Enrichment Week and the hosting will be supported by Student Guides from the College. Lunch and refreshments will be provided free. There is NO CHARGE TO ATTEND: the costs are met through support by the College, the IOP, the DFE (through the IOP’s Stimulating Physics Network) and by other partners.

Full details of the programme and booking will be available from around Easter 2019. If you would like to register your interest in attending, email now to Suzy Gray on sg2@soton.ac.uk or fill the “registration of interest” form below. You will then be eligible for priority booking, about which you will receive an email.

The programme for the day is being put together by Alastair Cuthbertson, IOP 11-18 Physics Network Coordinator for Devon and Cornwall. If you have any suggestions or requests, please email them now to Alastair on mandacuthbertson@gmail.com.
