The IOP has been closely monitoring the evolution of risks associated with Covid-19 (also known as Coronavirus) both domestically and internationally.

People’s health and wellbeing is our number one priority, including visitors to our events across the UK and Ireland. We also want to play our part in helping to slow the spread of the virus.

In light of recent developments, the IOP has taken the decision to cancel or postpone all face to face events until the end of May, including Physics of Rock Climbing. We are investigating the option of providing some workshops remotely on the day and will be in touch as soon as we have some more information.

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

This event is intended to investigate some of the physics involved in the sport of Rock Climbing (and associated rock related sports).
A session in the classroom will be followed by the opportunity to put the theory into practice at a superb indoor climbing centre.

Aspects from the physics curriculum at KS3,4 and possibly 5 will be covered.
