A workshop for teachers of Science.

We have a national skills shortage in the STEMM sector, providing plenty of well-paid job opportunities for those with the right skills and qualifications. The range of STEMM careers is hugely diverse and evolving all the time, however, many of our students, especially girls, are not considering STEMM careers as an option for them.

In this workshop we will be considering the need for and challenges of raising awareness of STEMM careers with students. We will be looking at where teachers can find appropriate careers information and support. We will discuss ways to embed careers information into lessons as well as considering other interventions to raise the knowledge and understanding of the STEMM sector in school.
