Stories from Physics: reception

Event Information

4 February 2020
5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Event categories:

We are delighted to invite you to an evening of physics storytelling with Richard Brock. During his teaching career, Richard collected a huge number of stories, anecdotes and facts to bring the discipline alive and illustrate its reliance on human ingenuity and frailty.

Together, with Richard, we created the Stories from Physics series to share with teachers. These booklets are themed around the physics domains of our teacher resources website IOPSpark. However, the stories will appeal to anyone who loves physics, the history of physics or the people who do physics.

Join Richard (now a researcher in physics education) as he shares some of his collection of amazing, amusing and enlightening stories. We will also be discussing the importance of telling stories to inspire the next generation to enjoy physics. Plus drinks, nibbles and great company.

This event is free to attend, but please do register to let us know you will be coming.
