Are you looking for ways to stretch and challenge your triple physics students?

In this workshop, we will look at how we can combine knowledge from two triple topics – black body radiation and star life cycles – to motivate and stimulate our students in their thinking.

Participants will leave more confident in their understanding and with a deeper awareness of how students learning progresses from KS3 to Year 11. Topics covered will include the emission and absorption of infra-red radiation, the perfect black body, the intensity and wavelength distribution of emission, the use of black bodies in the space industry and stars as black bodies. We will look at ideas for problem solving and finish by trying our hand at some of the more demanding GCSE examination questions.

This workshop is suited to all those teaching or planning to teach triple GCSE physics, from whatever background.
