This FREE CPD session is delivered by Dr Abby Bell (Subject Lead and Specialist Leader of Education – Physics) and Helen Pollard (IOP). It is aimed at non-specialist Physics teachers in Secondary Schools from NQTs to Heads of Department, but is suitable for anyone involved in the teaching of Physics at KS3 and KS4, including HLTAs.

The February Training Day is aimed at giving you effective strategies and knowledge for teaching electricity. It will not only improve your knowledge and confidence in teaching physics, but also includes a range of practical strategies and demos that you can immediately take back to your classroom, and share with your colleagues.

The typical timetable for the day:

9 – 9:30am Registration incl. tea/coffee
9:30 – 11:00 Practical Session 1
11:00 – 11:15 Break (including refreshments)
11:15 – 12:15 Maths for Physics
12:15 – 1 Lunch (included)
1 – 2:30 Practical Session 2

In addition to the two practical sessions, the day includes a Maths for Physics session. Giving you the knowledge and experience to know when and how the maths, that students need to be successful physicists, is taught.
