Engaging students in physics and in science generally can be quite a challenge. We all know that engaged students are more likely to enjoy and succeed in our subject and that methods to improve engagement are invaluable.

The Science Capital approach to improving engagement looks at all aspects of science engagement through the concept of “science capital”. In this workshop we will explore this idea, look at how it can be developed in your school and how you can enhance engagement of your students both in and beyond school.

The Potteries Museum is a great location for this workshop as part of improving science capital is about engaging in local resources such as museums. We will also be joined by a member of the museum’s education team who will be able to tell you all about the fantastic opportunities that the Potteries Museum can offer your students.
