During this ‘make and take’ workshop I will show how to make an ultrasound transmitter and receiver and we can explore their use in teaching the physics of waves.
I’ll show you how, if you make a second set, you can easily create an analogue of Young’s slits pattern and explore some of the variables.

You can also measure the wavelength of ultrasound and demonstrate that the speed of sound is independent of frequency. I’m sure you will use this kit in the teaching of waves.

The workshop is particularly relevant to A level teaching but also has uses at KS4.
