It’s really good to see a group on talkphysics.org that is dedicated to supporting the GCSE Astronomy course.
As you will be aware, as part of the controlled assessment Edexcel encourage the use of robotic telescopes for the “aided” part of the assessment. At the National Schools’ Observatory we have started to support this and will be adding to the resources we already have over the next few months. We have worked closely with Edexcel to ensure that using the Liverpool Telescope on La Palma is acceptable to them for the controlled assessment.
It is easy to set up student accounts so that each student can request images from the telescope, and this gives you a chain of evidence that shows that each student has completed the work on their own as images requested by the student will be allocated to their account.
