I asked both CLEAPSS and SSERC how they wanted us to treat their copyrighted resources within TalkPhysics. Here’s what’s been agreed for both organisations:
we are welcome to quote from their published advice and resources,
if we do so, fully reference the source, preferably using a hyperlink to the document on their website,
we are welcome to refer people to their websites, helpline, etc.
we must not attach complete copies of their copyrighted resources to any TalkPhysics discussions. This is to ensure that people get the latest versions from their websites, and also to protect their income, as they are both funded by subscriptions from member organisations such as Local Education Authorities, individual schools, etc.
More generally, those look like useful guidelines for copyrighted materials from other organisations too, such as exam boards.
