Several members have reported that they can’t find how to turn off their notifications. Perfectly reasonably, they go to My account / My profile / Notifications tab / Edit your notifications settings – this is utterly misleading because the profile page contains nothing to do with email notifications. Instead we need to make more obvious the link above it: Administer your subscriptions.
The site is inconsistent in several places about several overlapping concepts:
group membership
“subscriptions” (which should really be email notifications), and
notifications
