Our relaunch was on 5 September 2012, coinciding with the return of teachers to work after the summer holiday. You can see that usage spiked, as usual for that time of year, but higher than the previous year, probably because of the publicity around the launch, and the fact that our fieldworkers (TLCs & Network Co-ordinators) felt more confident suggesting that people register and use the site.
We’ll see how far that usage drops off – hopefully it won’t drop as far as last year, and we’ll see that the relaunch has a lasting effect across the year.
Having “cleaned up” this data, following the realisation that we have more accounts created by spam-bots than first thought, now we can say that:
* we failed to meet our target for increased registrations after the launch: we had 587 (legitimate ones…) in the 12 weeks after launch against a target of 630. It was, however, still an increase of 17% over the same period the year before. * we met our target for increased posts: we had 1338 in the 12 weeks after launch against a target of 900 (up 23% on a year earlier).
